Community involvement

We value the strong partnerships we share with our families and wider community. Parents and carers are warmly encouraged to be part of school life through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C), volunteering, and supporting school activities and events. Your involvement, ideas and time help strengthen our school community and enrich the experiences we provide for every student.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

Our P&C is made up of parents, carers and members of our wider school community who work in partnership with the school to support our students and strengthen school life. The P&C contributes to school planning, fundraising, events, volunteering and initiatives that benefit our whole community.

Joining the P&C is a great way to meet other families, have a voice, get involved and contribute to the future of Comboyne Public School. New members are always welcome, and we would love to have you involved!

Comboyne Scarecrow Competition

With Bec’s vision and encouragement, our students were inspired to explore their creativity by designing and constructing scarecrows for the Comboyne Scarecrow Competition.

The project began with brainstorming and planning, as students worked together to develop unique ideas and themes. They then gathered a range of materials, often repurposing old clothing, hats and other items from around the school and wider community.

Throughout the process, students demonstrated creativity, problem-solving and teamwork. They experimented with painting, sewing and construction techniques to bring their ideas to life, resulting in a colourful and imaginative collection of scarecrows.

Once completed, the scarecrows were transported to the centre of Comboyne, where they now proudly stand alongside entries from other members of the community. The display is a wonderful celebration of creativity, collaboration and community spirit.

We now eagerly await judging day and look forward to celebrating the efforts of everyone involved.

The Annual Comboyne Show - 2026

Our students enthusiastically participate in the annual Comboyne Show, held each year in February or March. With a wide range of categories, including poultry, cattle handling, colouring, flowers, LEGO and craft, there are plenty of opportunities for students to showcase their skills, interests and creativity.

The Comboyne Show is a wonderful community-led event that attracts visitors from near and far and brings people together to celebrate local talent, agriculture and community spirit. We are also very grateful to the parents and community members who volunteer their time to help make this much-loved event such a success.

We were delighted to receive this certificate of appreciation in recognition of our school’s participation in this year’s Comboyne Show. We are proud to support this much-loved community event and look forward to being involved again in the future.

Local Football Club

As a small regional school, we are proud of the strong connections we share with our local community, including our affiliation with the Comboyne Tigers Football Club.

The Tigers generously supported our school through the auction of team jerseys, with funds raised contributing to new playground markings.

The club also kindly donated a team jersey to the school, which is proudly displayed as a symbol of the strong connection between Comboyne Public School and the Comboyne Tigers.

We are very grateful for the ongoing support of our local club and the wider Comboyne community.

Volunteer at our school

Helping out at school is a wonderful way to become involved in our school community, connect with students and staff, and contribute to the experiences we provide for our children.

Volunteer opportunities may include:

• becoming involved in the P&C
• listening to students read
• sharing skills through cooking, gardening or craft activities
• helping with school events, excursions and special activities
• supporting fundraising activities
• assisting with sporting, cultural or community events
• sharing a particular skill, interest or area of expertise with our students.

We warmly welcome the involvement of parents, carers and community members and appreciate the time, knowledge and experience they bring to our school.
